Role overview:
A literary book scouting agency is seeking an energetic and hardworking assistant to support both children’s and adult scouting, with a particular emphasis on children’s, YA, and crossover fiction. This role involves extensive interaction with publishers and agents in the US and globally on behalf of the agency.
Responsibilities:
• General administration
• Scheduling book fairs
• Logging in manuscripts
• Database entry
• Reading and reporting on upcoming books
• Assisting with client reports
Qualifications:
• Attention to detail
• Excellent writing skills (no AI-generated content)
• Savvy tech skills
• Trouble-shooting abilities
• A passion for reading
• Prior publishing experience preferred, including scouting, internships, editorial, or sub-rights experience
• Well-read
• Foreign languages are a plus
