About the Opportunity

Our client is looking for a seasoned Procurement Consultant to drive enterprise software cost optimization initiatives across a broad portfolio of SaaS, cloud, and AI-enabled solutions. This consultant will serve as a strategic advisor to Finance, IT, Procurement, and business leaders, helping the organization maximize value from its technology investments while reducing unnecessary spend.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in software sourcing, vendor negotiations, licensing strategies, and subscription-based commercial models. This engagement is well-suited for someone who enjoys uncovering savings opportunities, improving procurement processes, and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze the company’s software and technology spend landscape, including licensing agreements, vendor contracts, renewal timelines, and utilization metrics.
• Evaluate existing technology investments and recommend opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and eliminate underutilized or duplicative solutions.
• Work closely with department leaders to understand operational requirements and ensure technology purchases align with business priorities.
• Review SaaS, cloud, and AI-related commercial agreements, including subscription-based and consumption-driven pricing models.
• Lead strategic sourcing efforts and support contract renewals, renegotiations, and vendor selection initiatives.
• Develop recommendations for software governance, procurement controls, and renewal management best practices.
• Partner with Finance and IT teams to improve software inventory accuracy and contract tracking.
• Deliver executive-level reporting on savings opportunities, financial impact, contract risks, and implementation recommendations.
• Establish frameworks that improve visibility into software commitments and future budget planning.

Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or commercial contracting.
• Strong background managing technology-related spend categories, including SaaS, cloud services, enterprise software, or digital platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of software licensing structures, subscription models, and vendor negotiation strategies.
• Experience evaluating AI-related software agreements and usage-based pricing constructs.
• Demonstrated success achieving measurable cost reductions and contract improvements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Comfortable operating independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Background
• Experience negotiating with leading software, cloud, and technology providers.
• Understanding of AI platform licensing and commercial models, including token-based, consumption-based, and enterprise subscription pricing.
• Background supporting high-growth, venture-backed, or private equity-owned organizations.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM), software asset management (SAM), procurement systems, or spend analytics tools.
• Knowledge of common software contract provisions, including data privacy, security requirements, service-level commitments, and usage rights.
