Job Summary
We’re seeking an exceptional Mechanical Specialist to join our Vehicle Designing team. As a key member of our team, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing advanced air conditioning systems and components that meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, reliability, and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop air conditioning parts and systems that meet framework and vehicle requirements while optimizing for productivity, cost, weight, manufacturability, and functionality.
- Manage suppliers and projects to ensure optimal program expectations within budget.
- Develop part and subsystem level requirements based on vehicle level requirements and customer experience.
- Lead the creation of part specifications, part DFMEA, and other technical design documents.
- Develop and execute part and subsystem design verification plans and test strategies to ensure production adherence to requirements.
- Ensure vehicles comply with all engine vehicle safety regulations governing central air activity.
- Support vehicle programs throughout the entire life cycle, including spec development, model iterations, vehicle testing, and production.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Exceptional design, packaging, and 3D modeling skills, preferably with experience in CATIA.
- A passion for electric vehicles and energy efficiency.
- A proven ability to address novel, complex design challenges with tight timing constraints.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Working knowledge of automotive air conditioning systems, including blowers, air conditioning units, liquid exchange parts, and vehicle performance testing.
- Working knowledge of psychrometrics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal management.
Preferred Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Experience in vehicle design and development, particularly in the electric vehicle industry.
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, including CATIA, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
