Job Overview
In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting the technical requirements of our remote transmission events, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality video production. As a Video Administrator, you will work closely with our production team to design, plan, and execute a wide range of events, including live broadcasts, concerts, and sporting events. Your expertise in video engineering and technical operations will be essential in delivering exceptional results and exceeding our clients’ expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Adjust video levels, black/white balance, and color balance between all cameras to ensure optimal video quality
- Paint and shade cameras, as well as screen, investigate, and maintain the technical aspects of our remote events
- Provide technical engineering support in the preparation, planning, and execution of various events
- Troubleshoot any video issues, including camera, cabling, lens, and other technical concerns
- Manage and organize remote compound video, fiber link, and source list
- Collaborate with Events and Production partners to develop workflows and ensure efficient execution
- Set up, operate, and strike down video equipment on-site as needed
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Practical experience in remote production operations at a network level in a video role
- In-depth knowledge of live production hardware and technical operations
- Proficiency in reading and operating a waveform/vectorscope (including SDI and IP, HD, UHD, and HDR)
- Ability to manage overall camera look and shading requirements
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills using technical insight and solid technical tools
- Flexibility to travel and work on Saturdays, Sundays, or other days as scheduled and show needs require
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast equipment and remote production show needs
- Understanding of fiber optic systems and cabling
- Experience with transmission trucks, fly packs, and fiber units
- Familiarity with system design and building, as well as on-site integration and setup
