Position: Assistant Director, Transfer Evaluation (4977C), Office of Undergraduate Admissions 86877

Overview

Position:
Assistant Director, Transfer Evaluation. The role serves as a transfer specialist in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, focusing on admissions, recruitment, and evaluation for transfer applicants.
Responsibilities
• Assist in design and implementation of admissions programs for transfer applicants.
• Train and support transfer readers and evaluators.
• Advise various audiences on admission policies, procedures, and eligibility.
• Support admissions officers in advising transfer applicants.
• Represent UC Berkeley at school visits, fairs, and outreach events.
• Plan and manage outreach events to enhance engagement and yield.
• Maintain caseload of admitted students; perform course‑by‑course evaluations.
• Evaluate transcripts and determine eligibility for transfer credits.
• Finalize admission records and coordinate with supervisors.
• Serve as liaison among students, parents, colleges, and campus partners.
• Lead transfer reading cycle and manage assigned readers.
• Conduct holistic reviews of transfer applications, assessing preparedness and background factors.
• Coordinate undergraduate student development activities with campus programs.
• Assist with other duties in the admissions cycle as needed.
• Stay current on educational systems, policies, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
• Experience working with a diverse student population.
• Strong communication and policy interpretation skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, admissions, and financial aid at UC Berkeley.
• Advanced knowledge of transfer credit review and evaluation.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with schools and community organizations.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Experience in student recruitment and marketing research.
• Knowledge of K‑16 education issues.
• Current knowledge of regulatory rules and standards for UC Berkeley.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Slate, Campus Solutions, Google Workspace, and related software.
• Understanding of FERPA and related admissions committees.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual or multilingual capabilities.
Education / Training
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Salary & Benefits

The annual salary range is $80,155 to $89,585
. This exempt, monthly‑paid, full‑time (40 hours/week) career position provides access to UC benefits.
